    A leader of the Palestinian guerrilla movement, Fatah has been quoted in the French newspaper, Le Monde as saying that if a Palestinian state was formed, Fatah would end all hostile acts against Israel. Abu Iyad who is one of the closest aides to PLO leader, Yasser Arafat was quoted by Le Monde from his book, "Palestinian Without A Country", which is due to be published in Paris soon. In Beirut, Abu Iyad was interviewed by Visnews' Anthony Steward and asked about the political and military outlook for the PLO this year?
    SYNOPSIS: Mr. Abu Iyad said the PLO faced many challenges in the coming year, mainly political.

    Mr. Iyad was asked what the situation will be in south Lebanon after the withdrawal of the French UNIFIL (UN peacekeeping force) contingent late this month?
    Mr. Iyad said the situation will be, and is, dangerous and there is the possibility of an Israeli invasion after the French withdrawal.
