    After the rally, Visnews cameraman Prem Prakash managed to film Mukti Bahini officers beating two men alleged to have been found looting.

    SYNOPSIS: More than ten thousand gathered in Daces on Saturday to hear Noor E. Alam Siddiqui give details on the Mukti Bahini's part in the war with Pakistani forces. He gave his assurance to the crowd that East Pakistan under the self-styled Bangladesh Government would become an ideal country for all.

    The crowd also heard Siddique give an account of his men's actions during the fighting and of his personal role in liberation of Dacca.

    After the rally, two alleged looter said to be caught in the act by a Mukti Bahini patrol, were punished on the in full view of newsmen.

    Only the day before, horrified Bengal had discovered the bodies of 125 intellectuals in a field outside the capital. All had their hands tied behind their backs and had been bayonetted, garrotted or shot. Feelings were running high in Dacca on Saturday, but Indian officials have publicly stated that unnecessary violence will not be tolerated. The two men accused of looting were severely beaten. One was later released but the other was to be bayonetted to death in front of cheering crowd.
