The Bulgarian Premier, Mr. Stanko Todorov, has had talks with Indian Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi on Monday (4 March) during his five-day official visit to the country.
Later, Mr. Todorov told reporters that Bulgaria and India were going to sign long-term agreements on economic co-operation and trade.
He said that during the discussions both sides had expressed the desire to strengthen economic ties.
Mr. Todorov added that in the discussions between the two countries on international issues their views had been the same.
Later on Monday, Mr. Todorov, accompanied by Mrs. Gandhi, opened an exhibition of Bulgarian science and technology in New Delhi. Among the exhibits were Bulgarian-developed computers.
Although Bulgaria is one of the lesser industrialised European nations, it is developing rapidly. And industrial output has increased by 13 per cent a year for the past 25 years.
