  • Description

Some 700 Anti-Vietnam demonstrators - most of them militant Blacks - marched to the White House in Washington yesterday (Saturday), chanting "Hell No, We Won't Go", and carrying placards demanding the U.S. pull-out from South-East Asia. Others supported the verdict against Calley, while yet more said the Government should fight "want" before "war".

Although the demonstration in itself was a small one, it could be a presage of what's to come - as a series of similar ones, only on a larger scale, are due to spring up throughout the country in the next few weeks.

A Black speaker who addressed the crowd, had a new way for public opinion to put pressure on the Government to end the war!
