  • Description

A Guinea Ministerial delegation is in Lagos, Nigeria, for talks on transport and culture with Nigerian officials.

The Guinea Government attacked public apathy by launching a "cultural revolution" on the Chinese model six years ago and the revolution is still in progress.

During the talks Mr. Louis Holler, Guinea's Minister of Higher Education, saw a model of a National Art Theatre which the Nigerians hope to build.

Nigeria's Chief Cultural Officer Dr. Ashiwaju is leading the Nigerian delegation but the first round of talks which started on Monday (July 23) were about transport. Mr. Mamadi Caba, Guinea's Minister of Transport and Nigerian Transport Ministry officials were present. No details of the talks were released.

Mr. Saye Koucouma, Guineas' ambassador in Nigeria, heads his country's delegation which will visit Nigeria's Lagos and Ibadan Universities before returning home. Guinea has vocational training centres for further education but no universities.
