Frank Borman, command pilot for GT-7, and James Lovell, the pilot, are completing the preparations for their 14-day GT-7 space flight. The flight is scheduled for early December and will include an attempt to fly information with the capsule of GT-6.
Borman and Lovell recently (10 November) "flew" some of their mission on the GT-7 flight simulator. This device consists of a GT-7 capsule which is connected to a large arm. The capsule can be moved by its controls just as the real one can, and much of the maneuvering that will be necessary can be carried out on the ground.
This film, released 18 November by the National Aeronautics and Space Agency, shows Borman and Lovell practising their part of the rendezvous in the GT-7 flight simulator.
