    A THIRTY-FOUR MEMBER TEAM FROM THE CANADIAN NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE COMPLETED A THREE-DAY TOUR OF GHANA ON TUESDAY (MARCH 21ST).

    THE TEAM, LED BY THE COMMANDANT OF THE COLLEGE, AIR VICE-MARSHAL CARPENTER, INCLUDED AMONG ITS NUMBER, FOUR STUDENTS FROM BRITAIN AND FOUR FROM AMERICAN, STUDYING AT THE NATIONAL DEFENCE COLLEGE UNDER EXCHANGE ARRANGEMENTS. DURING THEIR GHANA VISIT THE TEAM WAS OFFICIALLY RECEIVED BY SEVERAL ESTABLISHMENTS CONCERNED WITH DEFENCE MATTERS.

    THE MILITARY ACADEMY TRAINING SCHOOL AT TESHIE WELCOMED THE VISITORS WITH A DISPLAY OF PHYSICAL TRAINING EXERCISES. ACCOMPANIED BY THE MILITARY ATTACHE TO THE CANADIAN HIGH COMMISSION IN GHANA, COLONEL BOND, THE STUDENTS ALSO WATCHED A PARADE STAGED BY SEVERAL OF THE SCHOOL'S 107 CADETS, AND VISITED VARIOUS TRAINING WINGS WITHIN THE ACADEMY.

    THE VISITING TEAM LATER DROVE TO THE GHANA NAVAL BASE AT TEMA WHERE A TEAM OF LEADING SEAMAN DEMONSTRATED THE CHALLENGE OF THE BASE'S ASSAULT COURSE. THE BASE ORGANISES A VARIETY OF COURSES UNDER THE GENERAL HEADING OF LEADER PROMOTION. THERE ARE, AT THE MOMENT, SOME FIFTY PEOPLE STUDYING AT THE BASE.
