    A wide ground and air search for a missing pilot in Pa???-New Guinea ended 30 miles north of Lae when a native boy and him dog found a body in the jungle.

    The pilot, Robert John Smith, on Mildura, Vioteria, had vandered form the wreckage of his Cessna plane, owned by the Melanesian Airline Company. The plane crashed on the side of 12-thousand foot Mt Sarawaket on a flight from pindin to Lae on December 4.

    Searchers found the plane a week age and in it the body of Robert Bruce Smith, 27, of Collaroys.

    Burlier a search party sent out to track John Smith said he apparently had escaped serious injury because fuel and power switches were turned off and the emergency search and resend transmitter turned on. Small fires had been lit near the plane.

    John Smith's father, Mr. Bob Smith, of Mildura, Joined the air search at the Macair Terminal at Lea. He was flown over spotter fires lit by searchers. Six helicopters also joined the search.

    The pilot's body was found at the base of a small ridge??? in an apparent sleeping position. One shoe was off???
    A group of villagers, including the boy and his dog who found the pilot's body, watched an rescuers put it in a helicopter and flew it back to Lae.
