    SPRING COLLECTIONS FOR 1969 FROM MORE THAN 1,100 MUNICH, WEST GERMAN AND FOREIGN FASHION HOUSES WENT ON SHOW ON SUNDAY (6 OCTOBER) WHEN THE 18TH ANNUAL FASHION WEEK OPENED IN MUNICH. THE DISPLAYS ARE SPREAD OVER 15 HOTELS, FASHION HOUSES SHOWROOMS AND EXHIBITION HALLS THROUGHOUT THE CITY.

    THERE ARE 315 EXHIBITORS FROM 15 COUNTRIES TAKING PART, IN ADDITION TO 845 WEST GERMAN FASHION HOUSES.

    FRANCE, THE LEADING FOREIGN EXHIBITOR, IS REPRESENTED BY 133 EXHIBITORS. TWELVE FIRMS, IN THE FEDERATION DE LA BONNETERIE FRANCAISE, HAVE COMBINED IN A COMMON SHOW OF FRENCH KNITWEAR.

    ITALY, SECOND STRONGEST EXHIBITOR, HAS 45 FIRMS AT THE FAIR, AND ENGLAND 24, ENGLAND IS REPRESENTED OFFICIALLY BY THE CLOTHING EXPORT COUNCIL OF GREAT BRITAIN.

    FROM BELGIUM, THE ASSOCIATION OF THE BELGIAN CLOTHING INDUSTRY IS REPRESENTED BY 17 FIRMS.

    NORWAY, WHICH HAS FORMERLY SHOWN ONLY WINTER FASHIONS IN THE MUNICH FAIR, IS SHOWING SPRING AND SUMMER COLLECTIONS AS WELL THIS YEAR.

    IT IS EXPECTED THAT THIS YEAR'S FASHION WEEK WILL ENCOURAGE INCREASED ORDERS FOR THE MORE EXPENSIVE CLOTHES OF BETTER CUT AND IMAGINATIVE DESIGN. SUITS ARE ALSO EXPECTED TO BE IN GREATER DEMAND.
