SCU Major Kidd speaks:-"Well, I was in the cabin asleep and the steward, I think, came in & told us all to go on deck. There was no alarm bell sounded because the ships electrical system had broken down. We all went up on deck. My wife and children went onto the boat deck & were lowered into the sea."
SCU CAPTAIN WILSON speaks:-"Well, I make no statement at all. The only thing I wish to say is of the very good behaviour of everyone on board the ship."
