    FLOODWATERS FROM THE MEPING RIVER HAVE WORSENED THE SITUATION.

    IN SANPATHONG DISTRICT, WATER FROM A BROKEN DAM RACED THROUGH A VILLAGE CAUSING EIGHT WOODED HUTS TO SUBMERGE. THERE WERE NO CASUALTIES REPORTED AMONG ITS VILLAGERS.

    THE FLOOD HAS BEEN DESCRIBED AS THE WORST IN 15 YEARS AND THOUSANDS OF ACRES OF RICH PADDY FIELDS ARE NOW UNDER THREE TO FOUR FEET (ONE METRE) OF WATER.

    THE TAI GOVERNMENT QUICKLY SENT A RESCUE TEAM TO THE PROVINCE TO HELP THE FLOOD VICTIMS SALVAGE THEIR BELONGINGS, INCLUDING SOME BAG OF RICE, HARVESTED PRIOR TO THE RAINFALL.
