    The Afro-Asian Solidarity conference wound up four days of meetings in Cairo on Thursday (13 January) with a strong condemnation of United States policy in Indochina and the Middle East.

    A complete withdrawal of American troops from Indochina is a precondition for peace in the area, the conference said. Delegates also accused the United States of collusion with Israel, which was called "The United State military base of aggression in the Middle East". It was resolved that tension in the area would only be eased by the total withdrawal of all Israeli forces form all Arab territories occupied int the June 1967 war.

    Closing speeches on Thursday evening were made by Krishan Mennon from the Indian delegation, and Youssef El Sabbai from Egypt.
