    THE LEADERS TALKED FOR 45 MINUTES.

    AFTER THE TALKS PRESIDENT SOGLO SAID THEY HAD DISCUSSED THE WIDE RANGE OF AFRICAN AFFAIRS AND DAHOMEY IN PARTICULAR. HE ADDED THAT THE TALKS ON DAHOMEY HAD PROGRESSED WELL AND A RESULT COULD BE EXPECTED BEFORE HE LEFT FRANCE ON WEDNESDAY.

    PRESIDENT SOGLO SAID HE THOUGHT IT WAS CERTAIN THAT FRANCE WOULD GIVE DAHOMEY ECONOMIC AID.

    THE QUESTION OF A FRENCH-SPEAKING UNION OF AFRICAN COUNTRIES WAS NOT DISCUSSED, PRESIDENT SOGLO SAID. ASKED TO GIVE HIS VIEWS ON THE QUESTION PRESIDENT SOGLO SAID: "I WOULD FIRST LIKE TO SEE THE FRENCH-SPEAKING AFRICAN COUNTRIES, (I SAY AFRICAN WITHOUT SPEAKING OF WHITE-AFRICAN), JOINED IN A BASIC FRAMEWORK UNDER THE LEADERSHIP OF GENERAL DE GAULLE BEFORE INVITING OTHER FRENCH-SPEAKING COUNTRIES TO JOIN THEM."
