  • Description

THREE PROMINENT CARIBBEAN LEADERS ARRIVED IN LONDON THIS MORNING (MONDAY). THEY ARE THE DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER OF THE FEDERATION OF ST. KITTS-NEVIS-ANGUILLA, MR PAUL SOUTHWELL, THE PRIME MINISTER OF THE BAHAMAS, MR LYNDON PINDLING, AND THE GOVERNOR OF ANTIGUA, SIR WILFRED JACOBS. A SPOKESMAN FOR THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT SAID THE ARRIVAL OF THE THREE LEADERS WAS NOT DIRECTLY CONCERNED WITH THE ANGUILLAN SITUATION.

MR SOUTHWELL IS DEPUTY PRIME MINISTER OF THE FEDERATION FROM WHICH ANGUILLA SECEDED TWO YEARS AGO. ST. KITTS-NEVIS-ANGUILLA.

REPORTS THAT THE PRIME MINISTER OF THE FEDERATION, MR. ROBERT BRADSHAW, WAS ALSO FLYING TO LONDON TODAY (MONDAY) PROVED FALSE. MR BRADSHAW HAS BEEN A PARTICULAR TARGET FOR CRITICISM FROM THE ANGUILLANS, AND ESPECIALLY FROM THEIR SELF-STYLED PRESIDENT, MR RONALD WEBSTER, NOW IN NEW YORK.

THE FIRST FULL-SCALE DEBATE ON ANGUILLA WILL TAKE PLACE IN THE HOUSE OF COMMONS THIS AFTERNOON (MONDAY).
