  • Description

King Hussein of Jordan arrived back in Jordan on Thursday (21 Jan.) after a month in London for a medical check-up.

The King was welcomed home at the airport by his brother the Crown Prince and the Jordanian Prime Minister Wasfi Tell.

Prime Minister Tell the same day instructed the authorities in Amman to remove all military features from police stations in Amman, in compliance with an accord with the Palestinian guerrillas. The move came after the guerrillas disarmed their militiamen throughout the Jordanian capital.

This was one of the terms of last week's agreement ending the latest series of clashes between Government troops and the guerrillas.

During his stay in the London clinic King Hussein had talks with Arab peace mediator Mr. Bahi Ladgham on the recent clashes between the guerrillas and the Jordanian army.

Mr. Ladgham is head of the Arab committee charged with keeping the peace between the two sides in Jordan.
