    African and Western medical experts met in Yaounde, the capital of Cameroun, on Tuesday (15 April) for a three-day conference to discuss ways to fight endemic diseases in Central Africa.

    Delegates from five member countries, Gabon, Central African Republic, the People's Republic of Congo and Cameroun -- joined observers at the 10th conference of the Organisation for Co-Ordination in the Fight against Endemic Diseases in Central Africa (OCEAC).

    Cameroun's Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Paul Fokam Kamga, opened the meeting. He praised the organisation for providing a useful service to its members.

    Mr. Kamga stressed the importance of the formation of a committee to look into the priorities in tackling their health problems.
