Background: An Iranian student was seriously injured when a parcel bomb exploded in Paris on June 19. The student, Hossein Pour, suffered serious burns and lost a hand shortly after collecting a parcel from a post office in Montmartre. A passer-by was hurt. Police are seeking a young woman who delivered the parcel to the Post Office. The blast came as anti-Khomeini demonstrators staged a series of marches in Paris and other European cities. The demonstrators were supported by sections of the French Communist Party and trade unions. During the march, street entertainers staged a play depicting Ayatollah Khomeini as a hangman. Meanwhile in India, demonstrations against Ayatollah Khomeini were matched by pro-Khomeini marches outside the Iranian embassy in Delhi. The two side were kept apart by riot police. The series of protests was called to commemorate the first anniversary of what the anti-Khomeini guerrillas, the Mujahideen, regard as the start of their armed uprising against the Teheran government. The anti-Khomeini forces want an end to alleged torture and executions in Iran.
