Background: The Parliamentary Assembly of the six European common market nations, meeting in Strasbourg on Monday might, voted Brussels as the capital of Europe.
The voting was: Brussels 170; Strasbourg 161; Milan 155. Paris was eliminated in the first round voting.
There has been some delay in the choosing of the European capital, particularly because of French objections. Last night, however, it was stated that "not even Gen. de Geulle" wanted the designation postponed any longer.
The vote was secret and the three political parties--Christian Democrats, Socialists and Liberal--were given a free vote.
