    BEFORE LUNCH THE DUKE PARTICIPATED IN WREATH-LAYING CEREMONIES AT THE CITY'S MONUMENT OF INDEPENDENCE, WHERE HE STOOD TO ATTENTION WHILE A MEXICAN MILITARY BAND PLAYED "GOD SAVE THE QUEEN."
    THEN, AT THE NATIONAL PALACE, THE DUKE AND PRESIDENT LOPEZ MATEOS EXCHANGED DECORATIONS, THE PRINCE PRESENTING THE PRESIDENT WITH THE ORDER OF THE KNIGHT OF THE GRAND CROSS, WHILE THE PRESIDENT GAVE THE PRINCE THE AZTEC EAGLE AWARD. ON A TABLE NEARBY WAS A SCULPTURE BY HENRY MOORE WHICH THE PRINCE GAVE PRESIDENT LOPEZ MATEOS.

    IN A SPEECH AFTER LUNCH, THE DUKE THANKED THE PRESIDENT FOR THE HOSPITALITY OF THE MEXICAN PEOPLE:
    AFTER HIS VISIT TO MEXICO CITY, THE DUKE TRAVELS TO GUADALAJARA AND THEN TO ACAPULCO WHERE THE ROYAL YACHT "BRITANNIA" WILL PICK HIM UP.
