Background: Soviet Premier, Alexei Kosygin, arrived in Oslo by air from Denmark on Monday (6 December), for the second half of a Scandinavian visit. He was given a warm welcome at the airport and was surrounded for some time by journalists and photographers. Unlike Thursday's arrival in Copenhagen there were no demonstrators to be seen. Norway's Prime Minister, Mr Trygve Bratteli, and other Government officials met Mr Kosygin and his party. The two leaders are expected to discuss European Security during two rounds of talks. Latest reports from Oslo indicate that Mr Kosygin, who is suffering from influenza, may not short his Norwegian stay by one day and return to Moscow on Wednesday (8 December).
SYNOPSIS: A large crowd of wellwishers was waiting at Oslo Airport on Monday to greet Mr Kosygin, the Soviet Premier, who flew in from Denmark to begin the second half of an eight-day Scandinavian visit.
Mr Kosygin was given a warm welcome free of the demonstrations which had attended his Copenhagen arrival four days earlier. At one stage Mr Kosygin was completely surrounded by Journalists and photographers. Norway's Prime Minister, Mr Trygve Bratteli...who was among officials at the airport....was to discuss European security with Mr Kosygin in two rounds of talks. The Soviet leader was likely to cut his visit a day short because of influenza.
