  • Description

Russian author Mikhail Alexandrovich Sholokhov with his wife and two daughters saw some of the sights of London, Dec. 23.

Like any tourist, the author of "Quiet Flows The Don", went to see the Houses of Parliament in the City of Westminster, peered at the nearby statue of Oliver Cromwell - England's one dictator of 400 years ago - and checked the time with Big Ben.

Later he walked to Trafalgar Square to feed the pigeons at the foot of a column bearing a statue of Admiral Nelson, victor of the naval battle at Trafalgar, and then visited the British Museum to see some old English manuscripts.
