    Actress and film star Vanessa Redgrave is currently grabbing some of the limelight in Britain's general election campaign. She's one of only 150 women standing for Parliament -- there are over 2,000 men -- but she's one of the most forceful personalities in the campaign.

    She needs to be. The last time she stood for her Workers' Revolutionary Party she polled only 760 votes. Now she's back canvassing the same area -- Newham, a run-down working class area of East London.

    Ten years ago, she was a member of the Labour Party. But she left it, disillusioned by the lack of radical policies, and has since thrown her energies into establishing the new Workers' Revolutionary Party, dedicated to the ideal of the working class taking over state power.
