The resumption had ben ordered by President Nixon, who saw no purpose in "maintaining a charade" at the Paris Pease Talks. The Danish demonstration was peaceful, but the invited speakers who addressed the gathering were forthright in their condemnation of the Untied Sates' actin. Among the speakers was former Cabinet Minister Frode Jacobson. Similar protests were staged outside U.S. embassies in several European capitals during the weekend.
