SOUND EFFECTS OF GOOD SCENES.
SV Selwyn Lloyd speaks:- "I am very glad on behalf of Her Majesty's Government to welcome Mr. Dulles the U.S. Secretary of State & also Mr. Stassen, the Director of National Security, we are very glad to see them both here and we hope their visit will help the good relations between our two countries on which so much depends for the peace of the world."
SCU Mr. Dulles speaks:- "I know that Mr. Stassen shares my feeling of great pleasure at coming again to the United Kingdom. I must say however how deeply we regret that our visit coincides with a period of disaster which has done so much hurt to your people and to your land. We send to you all our most sincere sympathy. We come this time in order to establish personal contact with your Prime Minister, Mr. Churchill. Mr. Eden & other members of Her Majesty's Government. Like you we are all members of the Atlantic Community & it is good that newly appointed members who represent one of our Government's should come to visit their colleagues & seek their views. That's why President Eisenhower greatly welcomed the invitation of Her Majesty's Government that we should come here at this time, and you see we have responded very promptly, and we look forward to very happy and useful talks together."
