  • Description

More than 500-million people throughout the world are expected to watch the marriage at Westminster Abbey in London between Princess Anne and her Finance, Captain Mark Phillips, next Wednesday (November 14th). Global television links will carry the wedding to 16 countries, with commentaries in 40 languages.

Princess Anne, 23, and Captain Phillips, 25, were engaged last May, ending months of speculation about the future of Queen Elizabeth's only daughter. The couple first met at a party for the British equestrian team after the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico, where Captain Phillips won a gold medal. Both have a keen interest in horsemanship and attend many competitions together.

After their honeymoon, Princess Anne and her husband will live in a five-bedroomed house in the grounds of the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst, where Captain Phillips is an instructor.

SYNOPSIS: As the marriage of Princess Anne and Captain Mark Phillips draws closer, the young couple have given their first television interview on their engagement and marriage.
