In a brief service at Fort Hall, near Nairobi, Kenya, July 23 the Archbishop of Canterbury addressed the congregation.
Roll 1) Congregation assemble at Memorial Church. Archbishop arrives at Bishopric and meets Bishop Kariuki in the doorway, Archbishop walks from Bishopric and joins procession entering church.
Roll 2) Archbishop leaves church after the service and talks outside with the congregation.

Background: In a brief service at Fort Hall, near Nairobi, Kenya, July 23 the Archbishop of Canterbury addressed the congregation. The church was built in memory of those killed during the Mau Mau emergency. The Archbishop's address was translated into Kikuyu.
Also present was Bishop Obibiah Kariuki. During a previous visit to Kenya in 1955, the Archbishop laid the foundation stone of the church, which is situated in a small village about 50 miles from the capital.
