    Princess Birgitta, grand-daughter of King Gustav Adolf of Sweden, was married to Prince Johann Georg of Hohenzollern, May 25, at a civil ceremony held in the Royal Palace in Stockholm The Mayor of Stockholm, Mr. Yngve Kristesson, performed the ceremony that was attended by 750 guests.

    Guns thundered in salute as the Prince led his 24-year-old bride out of the State Hall to meet the cheering crowd. The couple met in Munich, where they both studied. The Princess, who is a qualified gymnastics teacher and a champion fencer, wore a dress of ivory-coloured duchesse with a veil of tulle. Her father, Prince Gustav Adolf, was heir-apparent to the throne when he was killed in air accident in 1947.

    After the ceremony the couple drove through the streets in brilliant sunshine and were greeted by large and enthusiastic crowds. ing Gustav and Queen Louise gave a luncheon in the Palace for 270 guests.

    They will live in a bungalow outside Munich, where Prince George is preparing a doctor's thesis in art, history and archaeology.
