    BEFORE THE FELDHERRDHALLE, WHERE ADOLF HITLER HELD NAZI PARTY RALLIES, THE VETERANS LISTENED AS PRESIDENT LUEBKE WARNED THEM "NOT TO REGARD THE MEETING AS A TRIUMPH OF FORGETFULNESS." "THE QUESTION IS", HE SAID, "WHAT DO WE, WHO WERE PERMITTED TO SURVIVE, HAVE TO DO TO GIVE THE 55-MILLION DEAD OF WORLD WAR TWO A MEANING IN HISTORY." HE CALLED FOR CLOSER CO-OPERATION IN INTERNATIONAL EFFORTS TO MAINTAIN PEACE. OTHER SPEAKERS INCLUDED M. EUGENE VAN DER MEERSCHE, PRESIDENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL COMMITTEE OF WAR VETERANS AND VICTIMS.
