Background: President Suharto flew into Singapore to hold talks with Singapore Prime Minister, Mr. Lee Kuan Yew.
The Indonesian President was met at Singapore airport by Mr. Lee and the Singapore Senior Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr. K.C. Lee.
President Suharto was accompanied by the Indonesian Minister for Finance and Industry, Professor Widjojo Nitisastro.
Officials from the Singapore Government described the talks as "informal" but said they would range from questions of bilateral agreements to the international situation. These included the possible course of United States foreign policy towards South East Asia under President Elect, Mr. Jimmy Carter.
Matters relating to the Association of South East Asian Nations.....or ASEAN.....were also on the agenda for the discussions between the two leaders.
