Background: Several hundred students from high schools and private schools marched through the streets of Nicosia yesterday (Friday), to demonstrate their support for ENOSIS (the unification of Greece and Cyprus).

It was the 20th anniversary of the plebiscita which saw the Greek population voting for unification with Greece. The students marched to the Metaxas Square, in the centre of Nicosia where a rally was held. Students leaders addressed the assembly and than the students marched to the Greet Embassy.

The students presented a list of claims to the Embassy calling for further diplomatic action towards the unification of the two countries.
