The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Michael Ramsey, opened the first meeting of the newly-formed Anglican?
The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Michael Ramsey, opened the first meeting of the newly-formed Anglican Consultative Council at Limuru yesterday (Tuesday). The 10-day meeting is being held at a conference centre in the heart of a tea and coffee planation district northwest of Nairobi. The new Council is significant because unlike the Lambeth Conference of Bishops which meets every ten years, its two-yearly meetings will include other clergy and laity. It's also the first representative world-wide Anglican body in which Anglo-Saxons are not the predominant section in numbers.
Nairobi cameraman Satwant Singh filmed the opening session for Visnews subscribers.
