At the invitation of
Chivu Stoius, chairman of the State Council of the Socialist Republic of
Rumania, His Imperial Highness, Mohammad Raze Pahlavi Arymahr, emperor of Iran,
arrived in Bucharest on Friday, May 27th.

At the airport His Imperial Highness was welcomed by Chivu Stoica chair an of
the State Council of the Socialist Republic of Rumania by Ion Gheorghe Maurer,
chairman of the Council of Ministers, by Gheorghe Radulescu, vicechairman of the
Council of Ministers and by other high officials.

There were played the States anthems of the two countries and there were fired
21 salvoes of salute. The Emperor of Iran and the chairman of the State Council
of the Socialist Republic of Rumania then reviewed the guard of honour who
presented arms. The heads of the diplomac missions and the high Rumanian
officials present at the airport were introduced to the Emperor. The guard of
honour filed off.

A great many Bucharest people present at the airport warmly welcomed the
guests.

The Emperor of Iran and the Chairman of the State Council then left of the
airport in a car followed by motorcycles. On their way to the residence of the
Emperor they were hailed by many people come to welcome them. All along the
trajet there were Rumanian and Iranis flags.

THE VISIT OF THE EMPEROR OF IRAN On May 27th, in the afternoon, the Emperor of
Iran paid on official call to the Chairman of the Socialist Republic of
Rumania.

Present were Gheorghe Radulescu, vicechairman of the Council of Ministers,
Grigore Geamanu secretary of the State Council, Corneliu Manescu, foreign
affairs minister, Ion Brinceanu ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Rumania
in Teheran.

The high and guest was accompanied by Abbas Aram, foreign affairs minister and
Ahmed Aghbal, ambassador of Iran in Bucharest.

A cordial talk took place between the Chairman of the State Council Chivu Stoica
and His Majesty Mohammad Reza Pahlavi Aryamehr.

Then, the Chairman of the State Council handed over to the Emperor the Order
"The Star of the Specialist Republic of Rumania".

His Imperial Highness handed over to the Chairman of the State Council the
"Pahlavi" order.

The Chairman of the State Council of the Socialist Republic of Rumania and the
Emperor of Iran delivered brief speeches.
