NARR: The most fantastic device ever created for James Bond is taking shape at Pinewood Studios outside of London.

The colossal new prop for Agent 007 will be nothing less than a volcano--12 stories high -- the interior packed with lethal hardware. It's being built for the latest Bond film, "You Only Live Twice."
There has never been a set on a scale like this. Construction will swallow up 200 miles of tubular steel and 700 tons of girder work, enough to make three luxury hotels. Other ingredients include a half million board feet of lumber, plaster sufficient to resurface most of China's Great Wall and 800,000 man-hours of skilled labor.

After a solid six months of work, the volcano is ready for business.

It's an electronic space base for international crime syndicate, SPECTRE, and it has all the fixings -- a moveable helicopter pad, a mono-rail and rockets to burn.

As agent 007, Sean Connery has fooled around with a lot of ingenious devices in the past. Now he has a volcano of his own...and it's ready to erupt.

After the countdown is completed, Connery will blast off in an actin sequence for, "You Only Live Twice." When everything's cool again, anyone interested in picking up a slightly used volcano can probably have it at cost -- $1,000,000 and change. The helicopter is extra.
