    CHICAGO'S MAYOR DALEY ADDRESSES A RALLY TUESDAY (AUG. 24) NIGHT OF CHICAGOANS IN SUPPORT OF THE CATHOLICS IN NORTHERN IRELAND. THE MAYOR KICKED OFF A CAMPAIGN TO AID CATHOLICS IN THAT AREA WHO HAVE BEEN FORCED TO FLEE THEIR HOMES.

    The mayor also urged the assistance of the United Nations in settling the Ulster civil war.

    Daley read a prepared resolution which called for President Nixon, the U.S. Congress, the United Nations, Pope Paul, and the Archbishop of Canterbury "to appeal to the conscience of the United Nations" in solving the dispute.
