  • Description

West Germany said yesterday (Wednesday) it was considering further diplomatic moves in the disappearance of 14 South Koreans -- mainly students -- from the country. Today, West German students in Bonn demonstrated quietly against the disappearances.

Information has been given to the West German Government that the disappearances were linked with the discovery of an alleged North Korean spy ring in which South Koreans living in Western countries are said to be involved.

On Tuesday, the South Koreans Ambassador, General Duk Shin Choi, was called to the foreign office and received a sharp complaint over activity by South Korean secret agents in West Germany.

The South Korean Embassy said that South Korean security men from Seoul had been in West Germany during the past few weeks and that the Embassy was not responsible for what had happened.

The Embassy said that the agents persuaded the students to return home voluntarily to face security charges.

In Bonn today, 300 West German students marched quietly to a rally at the city market place.
