TRANSCRIPT: SEQ. 2: YOUNG: "But in a case like the assassination of the Anglican Bishop under the guise of an automobile accident in Uganda. That kind of conduct by a government, as well as the conduct of the reported 18th person jumping out of a window in South Africa. The world knows better than that. And that kind of action has to be condemned in the court or world opinion and public opinion, and those malicious and sadistic elements in every society need to be confronted, and people of goodwill within every society, including South Africa and Uganda, need to be encouraged."

SEQ. 4: YOUNG: "I think that when I talk about five years in which blacks in South Africa ought to be prepared to run businesses and administer a society, I may be far too conservative. The events of time probably are moving much faster than that. I think the diplomatic powers of the liberation powers themselves are far superior to their military strength. I think that also that armed struggle -- while I certainly would make no judgement about it for someone else largely because we have waited so long to become involved diplomatically -- I think armed struggle inevitably tends to become destructive. When you're talking about achieving a new society, the less you destroy, the better off everybody is. And whether it be the destruction of bridges in Mozambique, or the kind of damage now being done inside Zimbabwe, essentially people are destroying resources that they themselves will need, I think, within a few months."

    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The Ugandan Government said that Archbishop Luwum and two senior cabinet ministers were killed in a car accident while trying to escape arrest after they had been implicated in a plot to overthrow President Amin.
