    ABOUT 500 INDIAN STUDENTS MARCHED TO THE UNITED STATES INFORMATION SERVICE BUILDING IN NEW DELHI YESTERDAY (FRIDAY) TO CONDEMN AMERICAN BOMBING IN NORTH VIETNAM. AFTER THE MARCH, ORGANISED BY THE ALL INDIA YOUTH FEDERATION, THE STUDENTS SET FIRE TO A 12 FOOT (3 1/2 METRE) HIGH EFFIGY OF PRESIDENT JOHNSON STUFFED WITH FIREWORKS.

    THE DEMONSTRATORS SAID THEY BURNED AN EXPLODING EFFIGY OF PRESIDENT JOHNSON TO SYMBOLISE THAT THE AMERICANS WILL THEMSELVES BE CRUSHED WITH BOMBING. THE DEMONSTRATORS DEMANDED AN IMMEDIATE END TO THE BOMBING AND PLEDGED THEIR SUPPORT FOR "THE JUST STRUGGLE OF THE VIETNAMESE PEOPLE."
    THE ALL INDIA YOUTH FEDERATION, IN A STATEMENT, DECLARED THAT NORTH VIETNAM WAS DEFENDING THE INDEPENDENCE OF ASIA IN THEIR COUNTRY. THE STUDENTS AT THE RALLY ARE ALSO REPORTED TO HAVE DEMANDED THAT THE INDIAN GOVERNMENT EXPELL AMERICAN PEACE CORPS WORKERS IN INDIA.
