    The co-pilot of the Libyan airliner shot down by Israeli fighters was still in a serious condition in the Hadassah Hospital Jerusalem on Tuesday (27 February).

    Mr. Yunis El Mehdi is receiving treatment in the Respiratory Intensive Care Unit at the hospital.

    He was flown there by helicopter on Monday from the Government hospital at Beersheba where he had been since last Wednesday's crash. He had been experiencing breathing difficulties and it is understood that his condition worsened during the flight.

    Mr. Yunis's Greek born wife is in Israel as a guest of the Government.

    SYNOPSIS: The surviving co-pilot of the Libyan airliner shot down by israel is now in the Hadassah Hospital, Jerusalem. Mr. Yunis El Mehdi was flown by helicopter from the Government Hospital Beersheba after he developed breathing difficulties.

    HE is in the respiratory intensive care unit at the hospital and on Tuesday his condition was serious.

    Cameramen were allowed to film the attempts to save the co-pilot's life through the ward window.

    Mr. Yunis has been seriously ill since last Wednesday's air crash in the Sinai desert. It was reported that his condition worsened during the flight to Jerusalem. He was moved after consultation with a Jerusalem specialist.

    Another survivor is gravely ill but the five other survivor are less seriously injured.
