    African leaders were told of the importance of maintaining the strength of the economies of their countries, when President Ould Daddah of Mauritania addressed them at the tenth anniversary session of the Organisation of African Unity in Ethiopia.

    President Ould Daddah spoke with pleasure on what he called the inter African co-operation which had characterised the elected efforts of members of the OAU to build viable independent nations.

    President Bokassa of the Central African Republic paid tribute to the Secretary General of the United Nations, Kurt Waldheim, who he said had worked hard for the African cause. The two leaders spoke in French.
