  • Description

At Toulouse May 9, the Press were introduced to a new French passenger aircraft - the Potez 840 Turboprop Transport - designed for economical passenger operations over short stages.

Of low wing design, the "840" is built to French and American airworthiness requirements. Its air-conditioned pressurized cabin provides for sixteen adjustable seats located either side of the centre aisle, or twenty-four seats backing to the fuselage sides, depending upon whether it is being used as a luxury or economy flight.

Powered by four Turbomeca "Astazou" turboprop engines, each developing 530 h.p. for take-off, the all-metal "840" has a high cruising speed of 326 m.p.h., with landing characteristics that enable to be made of any existing aerodrome.
