    Britain and France have agreed on a price formula for the supersonic Concorde airliner.

    Agreement came at a meeting in Paris on Tuesday (7 December) between Britain's Aerospace Minister, Mr. Corfield and the French Transport Minister, M. Chamant.

    No details of the agreed price have been revealed, but after the meeting Mr. Corfield described the Concorde as "a damn good buy -- cheap at the price."
    Latest unofficial estimates have put the price of the airliner at about GBP12 million.

    The Paris agreement means manufacturers can start sales talks with the airlines immediately.

Later he told newsmen that the meeting had taken a further step towards putting the Concords on the market - but he too declined to reveal the price. Latest unofficial estimates say the plane will cost about 12 million pounds sterling.

    Mr. Corfield says the meeting means that the firms building the plane can now go out and sell. And taking the role as leading salesman for Concorde is the French President M. Pompidou, He's already flown aboard the plane once - and plans to use it again to fly to the Azores next week for his meeting with President Nixon.
