    SOME 4,000 MEMBERS OF THE LEAGUE OF ITALIAN WOMEN HELD A "PARADE FOR PEACE" THROUGH THE STREETS OF ROME NOV 5. THEIR BANNERS CALLED FOR WORLD PEACE, AND END TO NUCLEAR TESTS, AND AN IMMEDIATE HALT TO THE WAR IN ALGERIA.

    THEIR CHANTS, SONGS, AND GENERAL CHATTER WAS STILLED AS THEY MARCHED IN SILENCED PAST THE COMMUNIST PARTY HEADQUARTERS. THIS WAS THEIR WAY OF PROTESTING AGAINST SOVIET NUCLEAR TESTING. THE PARADE ENDED AT THE UNKNOWN SOLDIER'S TOMB IN THE PLAZZA VENEZIA, WHERE REPRESENTATIVES LAID A GIANT WREATH. THEIR PROTEST REGISTERED, THE WOMEN DISPERSED TO RETURN TO THEIR NORMALLY PLACID DOMESTIC LIFE.
