Background: During a recent visit to Burgos, Spain's General Franco visited the borough of Gamonal and presided over the distribution of a group of 734 dwellings. Following a speech by the Civil Governor, the General presented the new tenants with titles of ownership of the Government-built houses and flats.
Later, General Franco journeyed to the Avenida del Cid Campeador where he inaugurated a new hospital - the "General Yague"- built by the Sickness Insurance Board.
The hospital, a 13-story building - is regarded as one of the best of its kind in Spain and has the most modern of medical equipment. There are eight operating theatres and 309 beds in the hospital.
