    ROBERT, WHO WAS THE WORLD 250cc CHAMPION IN 1964, IS NOW FAVOURED TO WIN THE 1967 CHAMPIONSHIP ON THE STRENGTH OF TODAY'S MAGNIFICENT WIN. IT HAS GIVEN HIM A CLEAR LEAD IN THE POINTS TABLE OVER THE TITLE HOLDER, TORSTEN HALLMAN OF SWEDEN.

    ROBERT WON BOTH LEGS OF THE GRAND PRIX. HE AND HALLMAN THRILLED THE HUGE CROWD WITH THEIR DISPLAY, PARTICULARLY IN THE SECOND LEG, WHEN THE BELGIAN SWEPT PAST HALLMAN WITH ONLY FIVE MINUTES OF THE 40 MINUTE RACE REMAINING.

    THE SWEDE, WHO HAD RETIRED WITH ENGINE TROUBLE ON THE FIRST LEG, WENT INTO AN EARLY LEAD IN THE SECOND STAGE BUT COULD NOT HOLD OFF THE BELGIAN. THEN HE WAS PASSED BY TEAMMATE OLLE PETTERSSON AND COULD ONLY FINISH THIRD.

    VICTOR ARBEKOV OF THE SOVIET UNION WAS FOURTH IN THE SECOND LEG AND SECOND IN THE FIRST LEG. THE RUSSIAN, WHO IS A FORMER WORLD CHAMPION, FINISHED OVERALL ??? ??? PETTERSSON OVERALL THIRD.

    THERE WERE 42 RIDERS, REPRESENTING ??? ??? THE RACE. THE NATIONS COMPETING WERE BRITAIN, BELGIUM, CZECHOSLOVAKIA, DENMARK, GERMANY, FRANCE, FINLAND, HOLLAND, NORWAY, SWEDEN AND THE SOVIET UNION.
