    A floating showcase of Japanese technical exports, the Shinsakura Maru, sailed into Abidjan Harbour on Friday (September 27) on the latest state of its tour of Africa and Latin America.

    The Shinsakura Maru, Japan's second floating fair, will remain anchored until Wednesday (October 2). Many businessmen of the Ivory Coast are expected to visit the exhibition which shows a wide-range of Japanese products.

    More than 350 Japanese companies, manufacturers and organisations have stalls on board the Shinsakura Maru.

    The Japanese said the purpose of the visit was to show products which would help the host country in the fields of economic and technical development.

    The exhibition was officially inaugurated on Saturday afternoon by the Minister of Commerce, Mr. Seri Gnoleba. Many other Ministers and foreign dignitaries were also present at the opening.
