The Algerian President conferred with the guerrilla delegation for two hours before personally seeing them off. No communique was issued after the talks, but in an interview published in Algeria recently, the guerrilla leader claimed that American expert were in command of the anti-guerrilla operations in Jordan last September.
Those in operational command, said the guerrilla leader, were American experts. He also said the deaths in the fighting totalled over 20,000 with another 14,000 wounded.
Yasser Arafat also rejected the idea of creating a Palestinian State in Jordan and the Gaza strip. He is expected to spend several days in Algeria.
