    Lady Amalia Fleming, widow of penicillin discoverer Sir Alexander Fleming was today(Sunday, 14 November) freed from an Athens prison, expelled from Greece and flown as an exile to London.

    For nearly an hour after the plane landed at London's Heathrow Airport, Lady Fleming, 62, refused to disembark. "I thought I would stay on the plane and it would take me back", she explained alter to newsmen. But she was persuaded to leave by immigration officials.

    Last month Lady Fleming - who is Greek-born but also holds a British passport - had been a suspended 16-month prison sentence, She was found guilty of plotting to free Alexander Panagoulis, imprisoned for trying to assassinate Greek Premier George Papadopoulos in August 1968.

    At a press conference at London airport, she declared that she would launch a vigorous political campaign against the Greek government.
