In the U.K., the talks aimed at ending the fighting in Zimbabwe Rhodesia and introducing a new constitution are entering a new phase. On Friday (16 November) Britain produced its cease fire proposals. General Peter Walls of the Zimbabwe Rhodesian security forces said his side could effect a cease fire within minutes or hours, but he thought Patriotic Front guerrillas would need days to gather in assembly areas. Britain will be in charge of monitoring the cease fire. A Patriotic Front leader Mr Joshua Nkomo, told Visnews' John Darby there is still much to be achieved before he can leave London.
