    WHEN THEY ARRIVED, QUEEN ELIZABETH AND THE DUKE WERE MET BY SIR HAROLD SHEARMAN - CHAIRMAN OF THE GREATER LONDON COUNCIL AND MR.ERNEST BEAN, GENERAL MANAGER OF THE ROYAL FESTIVAL HALL.

    THEN, THE ROYAL COUPLE LOOK AROUND THE EXHIBITION - MUCH OF IT DEVOTED TO UNUSUAL MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS FROM VARIOUS PARTS OF THE COMMONWEALTH.FIVE COUNTRIES ARE REPRESENTED AT THE EXHIBITION - RHODESIA, INDIA, BARBADOS, NIGERIA AND PAKISTAN.DURING HER VISIT TO THE EXHIBITION, QUEEN ELIZABETH MET THE HIGH COMMISSIONERS IN LONDON FROM THE FIVE COUNTRIES.

    THE QUEEN ALSO MET THE DIRECTOR-GENERAL OF THE COMMONWEALTH ARTS FESTIVAL, MR.IAN HUNTER AND HIS WIFE, AND MR.JOHN STODDART THE DESIGNER OF THE CONTEMPORARY ARTS EXHIBITION.

    THEN, THE ROYAL COUPLE ENTERED THE MAIN HALL TO HEAR A CONCERT BY THE SYDNEY SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA FEATURING WORKS BY WEBER, J.C.BACH, RICHARD MEALE AND BRAHMS.CONDUCTING WAS DEAN DIXON - AN AMERICAN NEGRO - NOW PERMANENT CONDUCTOR OF THE ORCHESTRA.
