  • Description

The Cambodian Army and their South Vietnamese Allies have regained control of the eastern end of Highway 7 which has been in the hands of the Communists and north Vietnamese intermittently since the fighting began in Cambodia. The repeated outbreaks of fighting have meant that many people have fled from the region.

Highway 7 runs from Phnom Penh, the Cambodian capital, to Kompong Cham, the eastern regional capital on the Mekong. Towns along this road have been taken and re-taken by the North Vietnamese Army and the Red Khmers over the past ten months. The local people have nearly all fled. Communications between Kompong Cham and the capital are unreliable.

This film was shot by Lucien Coudoux who has been sending his film by any available carry to Phnom Penh or Saigon. He is still in the field.
